Dr. Ping Kong
International Project Advisor, UNESCO WHITRAP
Ping is an advisor of WHITRAP (Shanghai) for international projects. Her work consists in defining the cooperative framework and compiling UNESCO capacity building strategies for Asia-Pacific. She has a proven record in both academic research and practical exercise. She lectured graduate modules on management plan, heritage economics and heritage impact assessment in Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus Senftenberg (BTU-Cottbus) as a visiting professor. She also has been appointed as an expert by Asian Development Bank to evaluate heritage resources and community development and to develop risk mitigation for the “Shanxi Small Cities and Towns Development” Project. Ping has been advising various stakeholders in World Heritage nomination and management issues. She is actively involved in the discussion on World Heritage and Sustainable Development and organizing cultural exchange and capacity building programs upon demands.
